Ostrov Castle and Castle Park

1557

The town of Ostrov enchants visitors with its elegant chateau complex and extensive park, which was once called the eighth wonder of the world during the Baroque era due to its splendor. At the heart of the complex is the castle, which houses an exhibition dedicated to the Šlik family, focusing on coinage and silver mining in Jáchymov. The Baroque Summer Palace, featuring an art gallery, dominates the castle park, and nearby, the Sacred Precinct with its historic Piarist monastery complex beckons visitors. Cyclists will appreciate the easy and peaceful detour from the Eger River along the Bystřice River, as well as the secure facilities for locking their bikes at the city information center.
