In Kadaň, you’ll cross the Eger River via a bridge and follow the roads to the Nechranice Dam. This reservoir, featuring the longest earthen dam in Central Europe, is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts and an ideal spot for a quick refreshment break with a view of the water. From the dam, the trail continues through peaceful farmland along the Eger River, which is known in this section for its vineyards and local wineries, especially around the villages of Březno and Vičice.

Another major stop along the route is Žatec. The historic center of this town will enchant you with its architecture, which has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List due to its unique hop-growing history. Here you can visit the Temple of Hops and Beer, the Hop Lighthouse with its observation deck, or the world’s largest hop museum. Beyond Žatec, the landscape changes, and the trail is flanked by the region’s characteristic expansive hop fields.

Before reaching the stage’s finish, it’s worth making a short stop at the Rococo Stekník Castle, which is surrounded by terraced gardens and hop fields. From there, Cycle Route No. 6 will reliably guide you to your destination, Louny. The town welcomes you with its well-preserved fortifications, including the Žatec Gate, and the majestic St. Nicholas Cathedral, whose tower offers a magnificent view of the hills of the České středohoří range.

The fourth stage is approximately 56 km long and, thanks to its flat to gently rolling terrain, is very pleasant and easy. The route runs partly along paved, dedicated bike paths and local roads with low car traffic. Other sections run along roads with heavier car traffic. Extra caution is required especially in the section around the Nechranice Dam (the Rokle–Poláky–Vikletice section) and when passing through the town of Žatec (the Žatec–Trnovany section). In terms of road surface condition, the section from Nechranice to Vičice is currently in poorer condition.
