Lake Michal is located in a recreational area on the southeastern outskirts of the city of Sokolov. It is easily accessible via a short detour from the Eger Bike Trail and was created on the site of a former brown coal quarry. Thanks to its clean water and excellent facilities, this modern natural swimming area is nicknamed the “Sokolov Sea.” It boasts a 500-meter-long sandy beach and the longest outdoor water slide in Central Europe. The main entrance to the entire complex is the ticket office by the parking lot, from which well-maintained walkways lead to the water’s edge and the sports fields. Be sure to stop by the beach bar for a refreshing drink or try out the water attractions, such as the 117-meter-long triple slide and pedal boats. Other attractions around the lake include the adjacent forest park and the nearby Sokolov Castle.
