Kynšperk nad Ohří

1557

Kynšperk nad Ohří is located on a rocky promontory above the Eger River, at the border between the Cheb and Sokolov basins, precisely where the bike path crosses the river via a unique covered wooden footbridge. The historic center of Kynšperk is well worth a visit, featuring the Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the restored manor brewery, which continues a tradition of brewing beer dating back to the 16th century. The gateway for both paddlers and cyclists is the popular canoeing campground on the riverbank, where you’ll find excellent facilities for rest and refreshments. Be sure to visit the remains of the medieval town fortifications, including a preserved defensive tower. Other attractions in Kynšperk include the Museum of Historical Crafts and the nearby Kamenný Dvůr Castle.
