Loket is a picturesque town nestled in a bend of the Eger River, dominated by an imposing castle perched on a rocky promontory. Loket Castle is one of the region’s most striking landmarks and houses a number of attractions, including several historical exhibitions. The historic town center is also charming, with its narrow streets and picturesque houses, as is the amphitheater at the foot of the castle, where cultural events are held. A unique view of the town can be enjoyed directly from the Eger River or from the surrounding lookouts, where its unmistakable silhouette stands out.

The Eger Cycle Route runs directly below Loket Castle. Additionally, a new branch for cyclists was opened here in 2025, following a former railway line. This has been converted into a cycle path (designated as Cycle Route No. 362), allowing you to comfortably ride from Loket to Horní Slavkov.
